Rosie Niven joins SES as Communications and Events Manager
Joining the consortium in February 2020, Rosie Niven will be based at University College London (UCL) and will manage Science and Engineering South’s communication channels.
She will combine this role with working as University Liaison Manager for UCL at the Alan Turing Institute, the national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.
Rosie joined from Jisc where she was a Communications and Media Editor from 2017. Previously a journalist, she worked in higher education organisations, having previously edited the Efficiency Exchange website for Universities UK and Jisc.
Her focus for the role will be to re-establish SES’s communication channels to highlight examples of collaboration between partner institutions. She will also be organising events to help bring together communities focusing on priority areas such as equipment sharing and research data.
UCL’s Vice-Provost (Research), David Price, who is a member of SES’s Executive said:
“I am delighted that Rosie has joined us as Communications and Events Manager for SES.
“In such uncertain times, it is more important than ever that SES partners coordinate our research activities, and leverage our collective expertise, to help society respond to its most pressing concerns.
“I look forward to working with Rosie, as well as fellow Executive members, to deliver an exciting programme of SES activities.”
